Approval Rating (also called Support Rating) is the numerical value of support the Verse Maidens have from the public.

Your Approval Rating increases after winning battles and clearing Missions and Quests. Some Quests will only become available after reaching a certain Approval Rating, and an Approval Rating above a certain level will increase Takt's level.
Your current Approval Rating total can be viewed by opening the main menu and looking below your current total EP Approval Rating does not transfer over in New Game Plus, so the player will have to build it up again from scratch on their next play-through.
